These cards are photographs of embroidery created by the Jews of Ethopia. Six cards come in a set. In Hebrew, Shalom translates to hello, goodbye or peace.
A project of ESRA, English Speaking Residents Association in Israel. Over 90,000 Falashas or Beta Israels came to Israel in the 80's and 90's. Women embroider a variety of Judaica products and employ traditional embroidery techniques. This project has provided much needed supplemental income for them as they make the difficult transition into Israeli society.
